Suzanne Marmion

Suzanne Marmion is a veteran journalist who currently serves as Executive Managing Editor for a health and news website owned by Ziff Davis publishing in New York, Everyday Health Group. Prior to that, she led the KPBS newsroom as Director of News & Editorial Strategy where she grew the investigative reporting team, helped launch the Military, South Bay, North County and Racial Justice & Social Equity desks, and mentored a generation of young San Diego journalists who went on to state and national reporting jobs with PBS and NPR.
Earlier in her career, Suzanne worked as a correspondent in Africa, managed journalists during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the BBC World Service/Public Radio International program, “The World” and covered politics in Sacramento, CA. She graduated summa cum laude from UC Berkeley and has a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Suzanne is also a LEAD San Diego “Impact” graduate (2013) where she worked as part of a team helping the San Diego Rescue Mission with a feasibility proposal to create a daycare for families who are experiencing homelessness to keep babies and toddlers safe during the day. She is looking for new opportunities to give back to the San Diego community and is currently searching for Rotary committees to join where her unique expertise and life experiences will contribute to realizing their missions.
