Estha Trouw Madeira
Estha was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and immigrated to the US with her family when she was nine years old. After graduating from high school in Cleveland, OH, she earned her BFA in Broadcast Journalism and Film from NYU. She learned journalism from the best at CBS, including Dan Rather, and went on to become a news anchor and reporter. Her final reporting job was here in San Diego working for Fox 6 News for ten years before starting her family.
Now that Estha’s three children are older, she has joined the nonprofit sector and is the Executive Director of Rehema for Kids, an organization that rescues abused, abandoned and orphaned children in Kenya, with the intention of giving them new life at their Children’s Home and School. Before Rehema for Kids, Estha was Executive Director of White Rainbow Project, and, Moms in Prayer International prior to that. Estha has a passion for helping the underserved populations of Africa, as well as other international endeavors, with an emphasis on lifting up women and children through education and business development.
Estha thanks her sponsors Dick Eger, Herb Hafter and Walter Lam.
