Micaela (Mica) Polanco and her wife, fellow club member Luisa McCarthy, own and operate a local cemetery, mortuary and crematory that was founded by the Kimballs in 1868, La Vista Memorial Park. It is the only family owned and operated cemetery, mortuary and crematory combination facility in the county of San Diego. La Vista Memorial Park focuses on working with the underprivileged communities of San Diego County providing burial services, and Mica carries that sense of caring for everyone of our neighbors into her everyday life as well.

Micaela was born near Casas Grandes in Chihuahua, Mexico, and emigrated with her family to New Mexico as a child. She is the fourth youngest of twelve children born to her parents. She and Luisa have raised two children here in San Diego. She looks forward to continuing her community outreach through our Rotary club, giving back with all of her heart.
