Paul Marcus obtained his BA and MA from Boston University and RPI, respectively, and originally hails from Portland, Maine. Just prior to arriving in San Diego from Boston in 2018, he manufactured patio furniture in Malaysia, Indonesia and India, importing and distributing from Sacramento direct to consumer. His brand was Brookbend Outdoor Furniture which he created in 2001, featuring patented designs of his partner Irving Sabo, formerly head of design for Ethan Allen.

Prior to that, Paul sold as seen on TV products, and was employed as a headhunter in Boston’s high-tech industry, recruiting software pro’s for tech luminary Ray Kurzweil and others in the computer and machine automation sectors.

Paul is now a professional muscian and founder of The Marcus Syndicate, a dynamic wedding and event cover band in San Diego, whose studio quality musicians provide high-engery R&B, Pop and Funk experiences.  Paul plays piano and runs this seven-piece band whose biggest ambition is to replicate the sounds of the orginal recordings across five decades of music.

Paul and his Janine have two children, Ian and Lindsay.
