Costco Wholesale was founded in Seattle Washington in 1983. Today, the company operates 671 warehouse style stores worldwide in 43 states, Puerto Rico, and ten foreign countries. Sales for the last fiscal year, 2014, were over $110 billion. Costco employs 200,000 people worldwide and has earned the reputation as a fair and progressive employer. In 1993, Costco merged with the Price Club, which was based in San Diego. Join us as Jim Sinegal talks about the history of this retail giant.
