Grotarian Event – Junior Achievement Finance Park
11 10, 2015 at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Join the Grotarians for an informative evening at Junior Achievement’s Finance Park. Mission Fed JA Finance Park is a paperless, high-tech learning center that helps students imagine who they want to be and gives them hands-on tools and skills to plan for a financially secure future. Since 1950, Junior Achievement of San Diego County has provided life-changing programs to more than 730,000 youth—in the classroom and after school—to foster an understanding of how the “real world” works. To ensure youth are prepared for their future, JA teaches them how to get a job, start a business and how to manage money. With the recent launch of Mission Fed JA Finance Park, JA’s goal is to serve nearly 70,000 youth from 36 school districts during the 2015/2016-calendar school year.
We will have a tour of the facility, learn about the programs and students, and how to volunteer. We will then have time to socialize with fellow Rotarians and JA staff as we enjoy some good food and adult beverages. We will have heavy appetizers by Culinary Concepts which is owned by Rotarian Kathy Koenig. The menu includes Caprese skewers, beef wellington tarts, marinated sweet pepper bruschetta, smoked chicken on polenta with mango salsa, a cheese tray assortment and roasted vegetables with hummus and a bleu cheese/bacon and caramelized onion dip.
