“Public safety is a shared responsibility.”
“It was an honor and privilege to be a San Diego police officer for thirty-five years, retiring as the Chief of Police. As police officers we are held to a higher standard and we should be. I believe this is the most challenging time to be a police officer. I also believe with every challenge comes an opportunity for improvement. In my remarks, I will comment on these topics; San Diego PD was an early adopter of body worn cameras – how has this technology evolved, how has social media changed the landscape of policing, and what is meant by “defunding the police”.” Shelley Zimmerman
