Betty Peabody – Balboa Park and Rotary: San Diego’s Two Treasures
04 23, 2015 at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Man does not live by bread alone and Balboa Park provides the grace notes for those of us lucky enough to live in the city by the Silver Gate. From marching in the 1914 Straw Hat Parade in a show of city boosterism to the replanting of Alcazar Garden in 2015, Balboa Park and Rotary have been integrally woven together. Through history, resources – from water to museum support – have been provided by familiar Rotary names: Davidson, Fletcher, Frost, Gildred, Jessop, Klauber, Marston and Sefton.
Join us to relive historic events and look to the future of these two treasures forever welded together.
