World War I – Medical Advances

2014 is the centennial year commemorating the start of World War I, a pivotal moment of the 20th century which impacts the world today.  Early medical advances in triage, wound care, plastic surgery, blood transfusions, and X-rays were made at a time when no antibiotics existed.  Old slides will take the audience through the trenches of the Western Front to reveal how medical care today comes from the pioneering efforts of our predecessors 100 years ago.
