Geoffrey Woglom is Professor of Economics emeritus at Amherst College where he taught for over 40 years. During his career, he has been a consultant at the Federal Reserve Board and the International Monetary fund and held visiting positions at Harvard, Cambridge, LSE and Nanjing universities.
Geoff will review how monetary and fiscal policy have affected the economy during the pandemic and the data economists use to assess these effects. He will also describe the different labor market statistics that economists use to gauge the recovery, and explain the major risks that could stall recovery.
