Rose Schindler – Surviving the Holocaust & Returning to Auschwitz
07 16, 2015 at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Seventy years ago, Rose Schindler was a teenage prisoner of the Third Reich, caught up in the horror the world would come to know as the Holocaust. She lost her parents and some of her siblings who were among 1.1 million others who perished in Auschwitz. Earlier this year, Rose and her husband Max, also a Holocaust survivor, returned to Auschwitz along with 300 other survivors from around the world for a ceremony marking the day 70 years ago that they were liberated from the death camps.
Rose will share her emotional story of survival. Though it is difficult for her to talk about the past, she does so as a promise she made to her father. “Every story is special,” she states, “but I want to share my story, just as I promised my father, so the world will always remember and those who are gone will never be forgotten.”
