San Diego Zoo Global operates a field station in one of the world’s most remote and biodiverse locations in the Peruvian Amazon.
The Cocha Cashu Biological Station is located in the heart of the UNESCO Manu Biosphere Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon, and has earned international renown for its role in understanding and preserving biodiversity.
Dr. Ron Swaisgood, The Everett and Rosemarie Brown Endowed Director of Applied Animal Ecology, will share stories of science and community engagement, including the signature intensive training program for Peruvian undergraduate students and a new research program designed to understand and address emerging threats to the endangered iconic giant otter.
