Virtual Online Meeting-Ana Morino-Avionics Systems Engineer, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory/Mars 2020 Mission

08 27, 2020 at 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Ana Morino chose to study Aerospace Engineering when she was 16 years old, after attending RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (a leadership program coordinated by Rotary Clubs around the globe). In 2017, she graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Business Management. While attending SDSU, she joined Rotaract and also attended San Diego Rotary’s Camp Enterprise. Through Rotaract, she met her mentors, San Diego Rotary members Bink Cook and Doug Arbon. Bink and Doug supported Ana as she interned at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory working on the Mars 2020 Mission (Mars Perseverance Rover). She was offered a full-time position with JPL as an Avionics Systems Engineer upon her graduation .

Ana will share how Rotary helped her achieve her dream of working for NASA. She will give us an overview of the Mars 2020 Mission and what it takes, through personal experiences, to send a rover to Mars.
