DESCRIPTION:USS Midway Museum…. Who We Are. \nThe USS Midway arrived in San Diego in January\, 2004\, following a 10 year battle to gain approval from the Navy\, Port and Coastal Commission. Midway opened its brow to the public in June 2004\, and has since become the most visited historic ship in the world. Over 1 million guests come aboard this tribute to San Diego’s proud Navy heritage annually\, and we host over 250 special events and 400 military ceremonies. That’s WHAT the Midway has become; San Diego Rotary will hear WHO We Are. \nMac McLaughlin is President & Chief Executive Officer of the USS Midway Museum. He was hired as the Chief Operating Officer in December 2003\, one month prior to the Midway’s arrival in San Diego and has been the chief executive throughout the building of the Museum. \nPrior to joining the Midway\, Mac retired from the Navy as a Rear Admiral in August 2003. During his career as a Naval Aviator\, he served as a Commanding Officer of a helicopter squadron and Naval Air Station. He served two tours of duty in the Pentagon on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff and served Flag tours as Commander\, Naval Air Reserve Force and Naval Reserve Forces Command. \nMac graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1972 where he was an All-American and Captain of the track team. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University. He is married to the former Norah Anne Flynn of Chula Vista and they have two children\, Kathleen and Stephen. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our annual Holiday Program will be held on December 18 at the Omni San Diego Hotel located at 675 L Steet (adjacent to Petco Park) in their Grand Ballroom. \nThe cost for members is the standard $28. \nIf you plan to bring guests\, please register them here so we can have an accurate count …Register your guests \nThe price for guests is $30 and payment can be billed or paid at the door. \nParking at the 6th and K Parkade which is directly across the street from the Omni at 289 6th Ave. is included.  Take a ticket as you park and vouchers will be distributed at the event.  You may also valet park at your own expense.
