DESCRIPTION:Come hear the history\, current state\, and the economic importance of venture capital in our community.  This presentation by Malin Burnham\, an early San Diego venture capital investor\, and Terry Moore – General Partner of the MVP VC Funds – who’s long-term vision and life’s mission is to rebuild venture capital in San Diego.  Terry leverages his extensive relationships built over the last 20 years\, with top-tier VC firms in Silicon Valley\, and top corporate investors globally\, to bring their deep pockets\, and strategic interests to our community’s top tech and life sciences companies. \nBiographies: \nMr. Terry Moore has over 20 years of experience investing\, founding\, leading\, directing\, and advising companies. As an engineer he developed Spacecraft Thermal Barrier Control Coatings used on satellites to conduct the waste heat away from the electronic black boxes.  He has had CEO experience\, and has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies in various stages of development and operation.  Mr. Moore is the founder and Managing Partner of the MVP VC Funds™\, L.P. (www.moorevp.com) in San Diego\, California investing in the next most successful tech and life science companies at the early\, growth\, and expansion stages.  He is the Chairman of The VC Roundtable (www.thevcroundtable.com) of Southern California\, a private\, invitation-only\, monthly investor\, inventor\, and entrepreneur networking organization that he founded in 2002 and is also the founder and Chairman of the Annual VC Regatta in San Diego.  Mr. Moore may also be seen on the CNBC TV show “Make Me A Millionaire Inventor.” \nMr. Malin Burnham currently serves as the Co-Chair of Cushman-Wakefield.  He has been an active real estate developer in the San Diego area since the 1940s.  His family real estate brokerage firm\, Burnham Real Estate Services\, was founded in 1891 and was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield in 2008.  Mr. Burnham served as the Chairman of Burnham Pacific Properties\, a New York Stock Exchange company. He was the Founder of First National Bank at San Diego. Mr. Burnham serves as Honorary Trustee of Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. He also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council of The Rady School of Management at the University California\, San Diego. Mr. Burnham is a former Director of San Diego Gas & Electric Company\, Cubic Corporation\, and Gen-Probe\, Inc. He is a former Trustee of Stanford University and President of America’s Cup Organizing Committee.
