A man of good humor\, he boasted a “NO WINS” license plate for years to poke fun at his own less-than-glamorous career as a professional golfer. \nHe joined CBS Sports in 1986\, and he quickly became known for his outspoken (and sometimes controversial) golf commentary. \nGary is the author of the best-seller “Golf for Dummies” and his autobiography “Just a Range Ball in a Box of Titleists.” He also appeared as himself in the Kevin Costner movie Tin Cup.
