DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a special keynote address by California Secretary of State\, Shirley N. Weber\, Ph.D. The event is in honor of President Michael Brunker’s farewell gathering on Thursday\, June 20\, 2024\, at the Liberty Station Conference Center\, 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Secretary Weber was nominated to this position by Governor Gavin Newson on December 22\, 2020\, and sworn into office on January 29\, 2021. Voters elected her for a full term on November 8\, 2022. She is California’s first Black Secretary of State and only the fifth African American to serve as a State Constitutional Officer in California’s 173-year history.
