Leading the charge in research into how adverse childhood experiences affect adults\, he is co-principal investigator of the internationally recognized Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study\, a long-term\, in-depth\, analysis of over 17\,000 adults. Defying conventional belief\, this study famously revealed a powerful relationship between our emotional experiences as children and our physical and mental health as adults. In fact\, the ACE study shows that humans convert childhood traumatic emotional experiences into organic disease later in life. DESCRIPTION:This is our annual “Sweethearts Day Program\, \nand will be a program like we have never had: \nWith a huge stage in the middle of the room\,\nwe will be treated to a display of \nprofessional Ballroom Dancing…. with a very \nspecial addition of an amazing wheel chair dancer. \nOur Master of Ceremonies will be none other than\nthe Queen of Ballroom Dancing\, Mary Murphy \n(from the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance). \nAnd Music\, You Bet! \nWell have the renowned “Basso Profondo”\, (deep bass) \nfrom the San Diego Opera\, Shelby Condray.\nWell have the winner of the Carol\nBurnett Award and the Spotlight Award Recipient\, \nBroadway singer Trisha Rapier.\nAnd both accompanied by Bryan Verhoye. \nAnd to top it all off\, Mary Murphy will have a group Dancing lesson \nimmediately following the program.
