SUMMARY:Rady Children's First Pediatric Heart Transplant
DESCRIPTION:Over the last 25 years\, all local children needing heart transplantation were referred to institutions outside of San Diego. This required families to temporarily move out of San Diego\, leading to disruption of lives and separation of the child from home\, friends and community for months to years.
