DESCRIPTION:Please join the Grotarians for an evening in Balboa Park. \nMaximum guests allowed – 25 \nBalboa Park Revealed: a one-hour walking tour led by Tomas Herrera-Mishler\, President and CEO of the Balboa Park Conservancy.  Tomas will bring everyone up-to-date on the mission and work of the Balboa Park Conservancy.  While we can all celebrate our wonderful treasure of Balboa Park\, we may not realize many of the issues with which the park is faced and how the Conservancy\, in partnership with the city\, is working to ensure the long-term sustainability of Balboa Park. \nFollowing the tour\, we’ll have a small meal with beverages catered by Panama 66\, a wonderful café adjoining the San Diego Museum of Art.  Please join us for an informative tour and great evening in Balboa Park. \nJuly 18\n 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.\n $25 per person\nWe will meet at 5:30 at Tomas’s office\, which is upstairs in the House of Hospitality on the northeast side of the courtyard.\nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes.\nParking is available behind the Organ Pavilion. \nREGISTRATION HAS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT\nClick here to see who is coming

DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Coast Guard’s continual presence in San Diego dates back to 1935. Today\, the Sector is a model of interagency cooperation for the Department of Homeland Security as it works with other federal agencies to protect the region’s maritime domain. \nJoin us to learn more about Coast Guard Sector San Diego’s mission from its commander\, CAPT Joseph R. Buzzella\, Jr.  \nCaptain Buzzella hails from Miami\,Florida. He holds a Master’s in National Security Strategy from the National War College\, a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master’s of Science in Quality Systems Management with a specialization in Homeland Security from the National Graduate School. He is a former Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Public Service.

SUMMARY:SDYS's International Youth Symphony
DESCRIPTION:Entering its 13th year\, the annual International Youth Symphony is a partnership program between the San Diego Youth Symphony and Rotary District 5340 International Youth Exchange. It brings musicians from across the globe together with SDYS’ most advanced musicians for a two-week intensive music experience. \nLast summer\, twenty-two international musicians joined twelve SDYS students to create a unique orchestra\, comprised of exceptionally talented student musicians led by SDYS Music Director Jeff Edmons for two weeks of rehearsals and a variety of recitals and concerts in the community.   \nThis will be the group’s third year performing for us. Forty-two talented students will be joining us…do not miss it!
