DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, November 2\nTime: 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.\nEvent: Marine Recruit Graduation\nLocation: Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD)\nCost: Free \nThis will be a full-on Marine Corps experience! Join Rotarians and Grotarians for a Marine Recruit Graduation Ceremony. Graduation marks the end of a Marine’s time in boot camp. It is his final dismissal and the culmination of his Recruit training. The graduation ceremony includes the graduating Marines\, their Drill Instructors and other key training personnel. This is guaranteed to be an inspiring experience for all who attend! \nRotarians should arrive at MCRD soon after 0700 in time to clear security and be seated to attend the Morning Colors. \nCeremony is at 0800. Rotarians will then have a briefing on MCRD in one of the nearby conference rooms. During the brief\, there will be coffee\, water and bagels. \nAt 0930 Rotarians will make their way to the parade deck for the graduation ceremony. \nWE WILL NEED FULL NAMES FOR ALL ROTARIANS\, GROTARIANS & GUESTS\, AS SHOWN ON GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID\, FOR ACCESS TO THIS EVENT 10 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.  THEREFORE\, PLEASE REGISTER EARLY.  REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON OCTOBER 23. \nClick here to register. DESCRIPTION:Our annual salute to the men and women in uniform is always a crowd pleaser. Be sure to come early and engage with the more than 50 uniformed folks in attendance. We’ll hear from guest speaker Brigadier General Ryan P. Heritage\, the new Commanding General for Marine Corp Recruit Depot. \nIn honor of Veterans Day and as part of Club 33’s Salute to the Armed Forces\, BGen Heritage will be speaking to the club on the themes of Service\, Patriotism\, Valor\, Sacrifice\, and Commitment (Honor\, Courage\, and Commitment- Marine Corps Core Values). He will be recognizing and celebrating the contributions of veterans in our society\, the sacrifice and dedication of our currently serving military and the importance of a supportive community that values and respects those attributes our veterans represent. BGen Heritage will be talking about the special role the San Diego region has\, as the largest concentration of US military personnel and military veterans\, in dealing with the issue of how America perceives and treats those who serve it.

DESCRIPTION:Guest speaker: John Highkin-Executive Director \nFern Street Circus is San Diego’s single-ring social circus\, a professional circus and musical troupe which performs and teaches circus in underserved neighborhoods. In its just completed annual Neighborhood Tour\, the Circus mixes adult professional artists with students they teach free-of-charge in City Heights. \nFern Street Circus serves families and transforms neighborhoods through performance and teaching of circus arts. Professional artists collaborate with learners and their families in neighborhood settings. Circus transcends barriers between people of varying cultures and languages\, combines physical and theatrical skills\, and merges the magnificent and the everyday. \nParticipants co-create every aspect of the Circus\, using their own talents and available resources\, working in public locations\, creating visible community. \nJoin us to learn more about this program that is part of a global movement in creating social change. We will also get to witness student wire walkers\, an acrobat/tumbling student and a foot juggler showcase their talents! \n

DESCRIPTION:Members – the time to donate is now\, we are only a few weeks away from the auction!\nWe are asking all members of Club 33 for 3 things: \n\nto attend the Giving Thanks\, Giving Back annual luncheon on 11/29\nto donate a bottle of quality wine\, minimum 92 pts.  There is the option of a $50 donation in lieu of the wine. (You can email the office to let them know to bill you)\nalso\, each member is asked to Give or Get a donation item for our Live or Silent auction.  Be creative!!!\n\nPlease complete the donation form for each donation item.  2018 Rotary Donation Form.  \nThe last day to submit auction donation items is on November 26. All items must be delivered to the Rotary office. \nAny questions – you can contact Auction Chair Diana MarJip-Chuh at dmjchuh@gmail.com. \nAttendance is also a key part of the success of our auction so we encourage you to bring your family\, friends\, neighbors or co-workers so they\, too\, can do some pre-holiday shopping! (Be sure to inform the office if you will be bringing guests to the program.) \nARRIVE TO EARLY! Our Silent Auction will begin at 11:00.
