Kim Benson, CFP®, CPA, CeFT®, helps executives link their financial decisions to their personal values and aspirations. She also helps help people navigate the financial side of life transitions, and thrives on providing them with clarity around major decisions — whether it’s within the corporate world, a career change, death of a loved one, or other significant life change, she helps them find a clear path forward to walk ahead in confidence.
Kim grew up in a beautiful small town in Northern Maine called St. Agatha. Because the French settled there in the 1800’s she speaks French as her first language. She holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Bryant University with a concentration in accounting. She says once she moved to San Diego, she had a hard time leaving. So, she met a fellow Red Sox fan here and married him.
After deciding to leave a successful career in corporate financial planning and analysis in 2015 she joined CCMI where she then became a partner in 2022. As an active member of the San Diego community, Kim is a LEAD graduate. She enjoys skiing, rowing, cooking and traveling with her husband.

Dr. Tina M. King is a transformative educational leader whose vision is guided by the core values of inclusive excellence, equity-mindedness, and institutional responsibility for student success. She has served in every sector of public education in California. She began her career as a middle school teacher in the Compton Unified School District. Tina is a tireless advocate for students and educators, she is extremely passionate about issues that affect student equity, student success, and policy in public education. Currently, Tina serves as the President of San Diego College of Continuing Education where she oversees and advocates for 40,000 students. She is focused on expanding access to adult learners to the workforce and economic mobility for adults to reach livable and sustainable wages. Prior to her role as President, she served as Assistant Superintendent and Vice President for Student Affairs (ASVPSA) at Southwestern College.
Tina also serves as a professor at San Diego State University, teaching equity- minded approaches to student success to graduate students in postsecondary educational leadership. She has received many awards and recognitions throughout her career as a community college educational leader, including the prestigious ASPEN Rising President Fellowship in 2021.
She lives here in San Diego with her husband and children.

Retired-Point Loma Nazarene University
Karen is a retired Art Education Professor and Chair Emeritus of the Department of Art and Design for Point Loma Nazarene University.
Karen was born on an emergency room gurney in the hallway while her dad was parking the car, and she’s been in a hurry ever since. She used her timeliness well while teaching art and design at the college level for over forty years. During that time she served on an array of local, state and national boards including 20-years of service on the Art Advisory Panel for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing which was responsible for writing CTC State Standards, approving art education programs across the state of California, and producing standardized tests for the discipline. Outside of the collegiate scope, Karen has taught art to children experiencing homelessness at the St. Vincent de Paul Center and San Diego County schools for eight years, and she sings in the La Jolla Presbyterian Church Choir.
She has a Ph. D. in Art Education from the University of Oregon and interned at the Planning Department after completing her graduate studies. The joy of giving to the health and well-being of San Diego neighborhoods has contributed to content in her visual arts and across her career.
