Purpose: The San Diego Rotary Essay Contest is a scholarship program that aims to promote ethical values, critical thinking and most of all writing skills among public school students in San Diego County.

Why Join: The program invites students in middle school and high school to apply their ethical reasoning skills to a topic of their choice and write an essay that reflects Rotary values in “Service Above Self”. The program also provides an opportunity for students to interact with Rotary volunteers, learn about Rotary’s service projects, and receive recognition and financial support for their education.
